Being A Seafarer's Daughter

Some of my friends ussually ask me about how it feels like to be a seafarer's daughter. I didn't know the answer at first, because I thought that it was normal. Nothing's different. My childhood was awesome. One of the best part of my life. My teenage was also good. And my 20s life is amazing. Just like other girls out there. So I didn't think that I have a different life with others. Okay, before I talk about it, let me explain it to you. My dad is a seafarer. That job requires him to go to somewhere far away for a long time. Sometimes it was 6 months, 8 months, a year, and even 13 months. I once forgot his face when I was child, then my mom gave me his photograph so I could remember his face. He is a great man. As a father, husband and friend. He is a strict father sometimes, also a nice friend most of the times. I remember when I was child, I liked to sit at his shoulders and he took me around the house. And until now, when I'm 23 years old, he still treats m...

A Simple Happiness

One of the best chapter in my life is my childhood. I like to remember every details of my childhood memories even though I cannot remember it clearly. Imagining the child version of myself sometimes makes me feel amazed by the fact that that little girl has the same body, heart, mind and soul as me. With the innocence, ingenuousness charming, curiosity, honesty, and any other things that you can only find in a child. That little girl was me. Who have change a lot now. That little girl was only worry about what toys she would play tomorrow. Her fears were thunder and heavy rain. Her biggest problem was not have a barbie house. Want to make her smile? Just give her a chocolate bar. Yes, just that simple. That little girl never felt anxious because she thought that adults can protect her. She would ask anything she want to know. She would cry anytime and anywhere she want, even in front of people. She would say what she truly feel, without worrying about what people will think about...

Grandfather

I'm in the mood to tell about one of my past learning. It's about my first loss of someone I love. When I was a child, I lived with my grandparents because of several reasons. I live with my grandmother and grand father from mother side. Therefore my grandma and grandpa is like a mother and father to me. Long story short, I finally entered my high school. My school was quite far from my village, so I decided to live with my aunt whose house is quite near from my school. I went home every Saturday after school, and came back at Monday in the early morning. In my second half of first year in high school, I was selected to be one of paskibraka team who will perform at Independence Day. I became busy with all of my activities. But I still had a time to went back home every week. But then, 3 months before the D-Day (Independence Day), our team became much more busy, we trained more intensively even in the weekend. So, I couldn't went home for about 2 months. One day, one...

My Reading Experience

Reading, for me, is not just an activity. It is an experience. Actually, I am not a bookworm. I just enjoy reading. Bookstore is my favorite place to go and spending money to buy some books is not a big deal for me. My reading adventure began when I was very little. I was able to read before I entered my kindergarten. And that time I always read Bobo, a magazine for children. My parents bought me Bobo every week. I like to read it and tell the story I had read to my parents. As I grew up, reading Bobo was never change. I still bought it every weeks. I save my money for buying it. My parents were never allowed me to buy a magazine for teen even though I already wear a white-grey uniform. So I kept reading Bobo until my last year in high school. During my junior high school, I rarely went to the bookstore because there was no bookstore in my hometown. So every school holidays, I went to Palu and the first place I visited was bookstore. The excitement of visiting bookstore and being s...
